Aer Arann and Aer Lingus have announced that agreement has been reached to establish a franchise agreement between the two airlines. This will mean that from 28th March 2010, the Blackpool Dublin service will operate daily with an increase in seat availability, branded 'Aer Lingus Regional' with connections to Aer Lingus' transatlantic services to New York!

Paul Rankin, Blackpool International's Airport Director said: "This is fantastic news for our passengers from across Lancashire & the Lake District. The new franchise agreement between Aer Arann and Aer Lingus will mean an increase in the number of seats available and passengers will be able to link into the Aer Lingus Dublin transatlantic network - effectively from February, passengers will be able to book straight through from Blackpool International to JFK New York!"
Blackpool International's passengers booked to travel to Dublin on or after March 28th will have their bookings amended and new travel documents will be issued without charge. Aer Arann will proactively contact each passenger with information on changes to their flight bookings.
