Airport Development Fee (ADF)

Blackpool International greatly appreciates the support of all its passengers and airlines in helping to secure the future of Lancashire and the Lake District's own regional airport.

The Airport Development Fee (ADF) at Blackpool Airport has continued to supplement investment to help secure the airport's future here in Blackpool.

The development fee is vital to help sustain the future of the airport and Blackpool Airport thanks all passengers for their continued support.

Who has to pay the ADF ?

All departing passengers aged 16 years and over are required to purchase a £10 ADF ticket.

Children aged 15 years and under will require an ADF ticket but no fee will be charged.

How do I purchase my ticket?

Passengers can purchase their ADF tickets either on arrival at the airport or up to 6 months before departure. Pay machines are located at the check-in area and will accept cash or credit/debit cards. A bar coded ticket will be issued and at the entrance to security, tickets should be scanned to allow access. Tickets should be retained and will act as a receipt of payment.

What has the Airport Development Fee money been spent on?

The funds from the ADF have contributed to necessary infrastructure development which has included an upgrade to the taxi-way and runways, extensions to the car parks, improvements to security, new fire and operations centre and is used to develop new route opportunities and fund the free passenger parking offer.

By no means will the money collected from the ADF be sufficient to fund all future development and the airport company will continue to invest in order to secure the airport's future in Blackpool.

Where do we go from here?

The long term vision for Blackpool Airport is to continue to provide a safe, secure and efficient regional airport meeting the demand for flights to and from the region. The money collected from the ADF will assist in contributing to essential developments and Blackpool Airport would like to thank everyone who has shown support in this way.
