Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool
Visit Blackpools annual illuminations spectacular from the 31st August - 04th November 2007. This year the illuminations are being switched on by Dr Who, David Tennant.
In contrast to Blackpool, just along the coast is Lytham. Here you can enjoy peaceful parks and beautiful gardens. There is a fine promenade and lovely sandy beach. Close to the promenade is the famous Lytham green and windmill. Lytham has an excellent shopping centre, with many quaint shops. Visit the ancient market town of Poulton le Fylde. Steeped in history, Poulton is one of the Fylde's most picturesque spots. The town is famous for its stocks in the town square and magnificent displays of crocus each spring in the churchyard of St Chad's.
