Security Procedures for Passengers
The following measures are in place affecting ALL passengers following advice from the UK Department for Transport.
Each passenger is permitted to carry ONE item of baggage through the airport security search point. Check the size and weight allowance that your airline has stated on your confirmation details. A handbag will be classed as one item. If your cabin baggage is larger than the given dimensions or you have more than one piece of baggage you must check it in. The only exception is musical instruments. These are allowed as a second item of cabin baggage if they do not fit into the cabin bag. They will however need to be screened and passengers should check with their airlines as to whether there are special arrangements (e.g. purchasing an extra seat) for large instruments.
Liquid products (gels, pastes, lotions, liquid/solid mixtures, toothpaste, hair gel, drinks, soups, syrups, perfume, deodorant, shaving foam, aerosols etc.) are now allowed through in hand luggage but only under the following conditions:
The liquid is in a container with a capacity no greater than 100ml
The container is carried within one transparent re-sealable plastic bag with a capacity not
exceeding 1 litre
The contents of the plastic bag must fit comfortably and the bag must be completely closed
Liquids purchased at the airport after the search point continue to be permitted on board
an aircraft and liquids in containers of more than 100ml capacity can be carried in hold
baggage.
Please note NO sharp objects (scissors, razors etc.) are to be carried in hand luggage at any time.
Pushchairs, walking aids and wheelchairs are permitted but they will be subject to x-ray screening.
All laptops and large electrical items must be removed from the bag and placed in a tray for x-ray screening.
All passengers will be subject to search and their footwear will be x-ray screened.
We thank you for your patience.
